[London, April 4, 2025] We’re proud to share a new petition started by one of our dedicated volunteers – a powerful call to the UK Government to finally treat hepatitis B with the urgency and seriousness it deserves.
Hepatitis B is silently affecting thousands across the UK.
Many people are living with the virus without even knowing it – unaware until it’s too late to prevent serious complications like liver damage or cancer. And even for those who are diagnosed, care can be inconsistent, confusing, and difficult to navigate.
This petition is asking the Government to take four simple but vital steps:
-
Increase funding for Hepatitis B research, treatment, and early detection.
There is no cure yet, but we are closer than ever. Investment now will save lives later. -
Launch a national awareness campaign targeting high-risk groups.
Many people at risk don’t even know hepatitis B exists, let alone that they should get tested. This needs to change.Join the call for action on hepatitis B. Sign our petition urging the UK Government to improve screening, care, awareness, and funding to save lives and prevent liver cancer. -
Implement routine hepatitis B screening for at-risk populations.
We have the tools to detect hepatitis B early, but without proper screening, people fall through the cracks. -
Ensure timely access to medical care for those living with hepatitis B.
Every person diagnosed deserves clear information, expert support, and a care pathway that works.
Despite being vaccine-preventable and manageable with treatment, hepatitis B continues to fly under the radar. It is the most common risk factor for liver cancer in the UK. Yet there’s been minimal public health campaigning, no national screening programme, and unequal access to care.
We believe this is unacceptable. It’s time for change.
If you believe in better health, early detection, and fair treatment for everyone, please sign the petition and share it with your networks. Let’s make hepatitis B impossible to ignore.
Together, we can push for a future where everyone has the knowledge, care, and support they need to live well with hepatitis B – and where fewer people face the risk of late diagnosis and liver cancer.
Let’s raise our voices. Let’s demand action.
